Using UC-eLinks - Step One

Orange UC-eLinks button

In some databases, like Web of Science, you find article citations but not the full text of the articles themselves. To get to the full-text, you need a link resolver like UC-eLinks.

To see what it looks like to use UC-eLinks in Web of Science, follow these steps:

  • click the Databases tab in the Quick SEARCH
  • type in Web of Science and click Search
  • scroll down as needed and click on the link for Web of Science.

Now you should see the Web of Science database interface.

NOTE: Web of Science may open in a new window or tab.

Follow these steps to find a specific article in Web of Science:

  • Type (or copy and paste) this article title in the top search box: Executive Functions and Developmental Psychopathology
  • Select Title from the drop-down menu to the right of the Search box.
  • Click Search.

Click on the article title to to into the article record. Here you see the article title, journal title, page numbers, date of publication, etc.

Notice that there is no link to html or pdf full-text of the article.

Using UC-eLinks - Step Three

Click on the gold UC-e-Links button. A new tab will open and take you to a page where you will see some options for accessing the article. Click the "Wiley Online Library Backfile" link to see the abstract for the article, and a link to the PDF of the article.

After clicking to view the PDF, return to the tutorial by coming back to this tab.
