Melvyl Catalog + WorldCat = Next-Generation Melvyl
Have you ever used the Melvyl Catalog, the online catalog of books, journals, and other materials held by the ten UC libraries? Now an online catalog even bigger and better than Melvyl is under development: Next-Generation Melvyl.
This pilot project, which begins in May 2008 and will continue for at least six months, merges Melvyl and WorldCat, an online catalog containing more than eighty million records about books, journals, videos, music, articles, and other types of materials held by libraries worldwide. Next-Generation Melvyl will enable you to search both of these databases and more for items such as hard-to-find materials, current and historical works, and foreign-language items.
